The founder of Jazeema Picture Palace, the late Mathar Sahib Mohamed Gouth, was born on the 19th of June 1929 in the village of Tharapuram, Mannar. At the young age of 19, he moved to the city of Jaffna in the year 1949 with a vision to engage in business, where he commenced his enterprise on K.K.S. Road. In recognition of its growing presence and to formalize its operations, the establishment was legally registered on the 18th of February 1952.

Guided by the fundamental principles of trust, integrity, and commitment, the institution steadily grew to become a renowned and respected enterprise in the city of Jaffna. For over 75 years, Jazeema Picture Palace has functioned with distinction as a leading establishment, earning the confidence and goodwill of generations of patrons.

With foresight and a deep sense of responsibility toward the future of the institution, the founder, prior to his demise, entrusted the present management to his younger son, Mohamed Gouth Mohamed Jameel. This significant transition ensured the continuity and sustained success of the enterprise and secured an honoured place in its history.

The enterprise further expanded its presence beyond Jaffna with the establishment of its Colombo branch, the “Colombo Trading Centre,” in 1986, which continues to operate successfully in Colombo to this day. Marking another important milestone in its growth journey, J.R. Global Enterprises was established in Dubai in the year 2024 and remains actively engaged in its operations, providing employment opportunities to numerous international workers.

Today, these institutions stand as enduring historical milestones, reflecting the selfless efforts, visionary leadership, and dedicated contributions of the founder, Mathar Sahib Mohamed Gouth, whose legacy of excellence, integrity, and service continues without end.
